Squirrels Are a fascinating breed of animal. Many people like to view them as they race around in the yard and trees, carrying their organic items like gathering food, playing, building nests, etc.. They are commonly viewed raiding a bird feeder and many a person has had fun viewing the creative ways these creatures attempt to get to some bird claws, even the ones with “squirrel guards” onto them. Rarely do you find one that will do the job. I’ve personally observed squirrels leaping from high up in a tree to try and land on the bird feeder in the center of the yard, then they miss and return up the tree and do it again til they succeed. These are the animals most people enjoy.
But There’s a side to These animals that lots of individuals, (maybe like yourself), do not know, and that is the territorial side. Squirrels guard their land and mark it their own distinct way. Dogs, cats, and other wild animals like snacks, etc. indicate there territory by leaving pee in places. Squirrels do too but they also often chew on things, namely homes. This is a means to mark their territory on your home or someone elses. Sometimes not a major spot, but only enough to show that is their area.
The If they didn’t chew on things which are difficult, their teeth would rise in a half circle and become so long they could not eat and they’d starve to death. Wood is a good hard material and your home usually is full of it. This is another reason they chew on homes, maybe yours.
Chew on houses and this is the one I generally get called in for squirrel control where I support. They want to eliminate squirrels in their loft.
Bat Removal Company received a phone that goes like this. “Uh yes, I’ve Noises in my loft, I generally hear them early morning, then throughout the day at different times and then right about dark I hear a lot of sound and then it quiets down only a couple of hours after dark, do you understand what this kind of sound might be?”
Like squirrels, they generally spend their day out and about, occasionally visiting their den site (your attic) at various times, then return in through the night if their major predators such as hawks, owls, etc are commonly out searching. What I can do to you will come out and perform a review for $XXX and determine precisely what the noise is and determine where they entered your dwelling. At that point I can set up squirrel traps, generally within the pit along with a couple baited traps using a system which works well for me. When squirrels are caught and I want to make a trip back it’s $XXX for each trip back. I will at the time give you a quote for repairs in which the entry point is to ensure this problem doesn’t occur again. I’ll do a 62 point review and tell you if there are some other areas that could be problem areas in the future and provide you my recommendations for repairs at that time.”
The main That flows air in your attic to the surface. These squirrels feel fuller atmosphere and start to chew their way to the attic. Once inside they discover that a loft is much like a glorified hollow tree, so much warmer, much safer, so they take up residence and don’t pay you rent. You hear the noise, and wonder what’s happening up there, and they’re naturally curious and will sometimes wonder what’s going on down there and then chew a summit hole just to look and then seal it up with insulation that is available. It generally doesn’t mean they are moving in to the living area.
Squirrels can be controlled when they are chewing on Your house and gaining entry in the attic. Fix the dilemma is to contact a professional in your area.
